Care & Recovery

After a stroke, things can feel different; this space is here to help you through recovery.

What Recovery Can Feel Like

Everyone’s experience is different, but you might notice:

  • Weakness or changes in movement

  • Fatigue, even after small activities

  • Difficulty with speech or finding words

  • Changes in focus, memory, or mood

Some days will feel easier than others.

Getting Back Into Daily Life

Getting back into your daily routine might look like:

  • Taking more time to get ready in the morning

  • Using support when walking or moving

  • Breaking tasks into smaller steps

  • Resting more often throughout the day

Physical & Mental Health

Physical exercise is an important part of recovery, equally important as how you’re feeling mentally. Movement, like physical therapy or small daily movements, can help rebuild strength and coordination. It might feel repetitive or slow, but try to remember that's part of the process!

But we understand that it can feel frustrating or discouraging. Progress doesn’t always feel obvious, and some days will be harder than others.

Staying consistent, even in small ways, matters more than pushing yourself too hard. Give yourself time, both physically and mentally to adjust.
